Kalsang is a woodcut printmaker based in Southwick,  West Sussex.

He blends tradiional techniques to creat his work. Each piece begins with hand drawn textures, which are then machine carved into wood,  with an emphasis on retaining the essence of the hand drawn lines.  The approach allows him to play with structure and movement, generating layered and evolving images. The final prints are hand - pressed using a brayer, merging the tactile quality of traditional printmaking with a contemporary approach to design.
